Alex Salkeld
Alex Salkeld has been involved with the local Vancouver Bitcoin community since 2013, with a large focus on community outreach and education. In January 2014, at 26 months, his daughter was perhaps the youngest person to independently buy Bitcoin from an ATM. He helps run a recurring introductory level Bitcoin meetup, along with other meetups focused on technical and cultural issues in blockchain. He is a Bitcoin maximalist, decentralist, and amateur Silk Road historian (Dread Pirate Roberts, not ancient Asian trade routes). He believes as more layers are built on top on Bitcoin, a new set of decentralized systems will be more accessible globally than the internet is now.
